Khatb refractory mine located in Maragheh city of East Azerbaijan province, has the potential to produce refractory stone with less than 2% iron at the rate of more than 4000 tons per year. In addition, the mine has the potential to produce high-alumina cohesive refractory soils and kaolin. The iron refractory materials of this mine are also very suitable for the use of cement and refractory brick factories and tile and ceramic companies.
Khatb refractory mine, in addition to producing refractory materials, also has products such as barite, the main buyer of which is Iran Barite Plateau Company. In addition to barite, due to the exploration of quality reserves of travertine and coal in the Khatb mine, the company has put the issue of exploration during the extraction of these minerals on its agenda.
